There's no /crt/ thread up so I figure I'll ask here. I'm running a laptop's VGA output through an Emotia Plus for downscaling purposes. The downscaling itself works very well, but I can only ever get a black & white picture on the CRT. This is happening through both S-video and composite outputs which are both good cables. I'm thinking the issue is with the VGA female-to-female adapter on the input, some problem with color depth, or something wrong with the Emotia itself.
Unfortunately I can't test RGB output because I'd need a card for my JVC and my other screen only has component.

It's a weird game. The game is played in a first person perspective and is a dungeon crawler however combat is a weird sidescroller kind of beat-em-up style. Basically you make your character and explore Beast City, your typical crime infested cyberpunk city, and eventually rise in power. Been awhile and I never made it far but I don't remember much else, sorry. It is pretty primitive and although the art is cool it can be annoying to play.

I'm guessing you know about it as you made this post but here is a link to the English translation. I'm quite surprised someone had even made this. Maybe the "DEHUMANIZE YOURSELF AND FACE TO BLOODSHED" quote boosted its popularity enough to the point of people actually wanting to play it.

That's the thing though, in order for something to count as cyberpunk it needs the old tech gritty visuals, a soundtrack like something the prodigy or nine inch nails would make, the whole dystopian thingy going on, gen-x idealism, nuclear threats, and some conspiracy but not all of those are necessary to give something the cyberpunk vibe imo.
Things like soylent green, 12 monkeys, hackers, total recall, they live, strange days, watchmen, terminator 1 and 2, videodrome, existenz, burst city, tetsuo the iron man, akira, neo tokyo, dominion tank police, ai city, genocyber, x men the animated series from the early 90s, mgs1, smt1 for the snes, the screamer for the pc98, c-12 final resistance and even quake 1 and 2 deserve a mention as much as bladerunner and robocop do. Most of those are dystopian 90s flicks that happened to be made while cyberpunk was a thing and so they draw plenty from its aesthetics. If those don't count as cyberpunk then it shouldn't even be considered a niche sub-genre but rather a collection of around 20-30 books, games and movies.
