I bought my two younger cousins a 2ds and a couple games. Bought the boy a copy of the OoT remaster, which he beat and spent several hundred hours on.

They turned out to be little shits, though. Ungrateful, expected me to just give them whatever whenever they asked (while their mom/my first cousin remained silent), breaking or misplacing things i gave them, etc.

I want to be the cool older cousin who gives them games, but being taken advantage of put a kibosh on that. Its a shame, as I think they'd like old SNES games.

I think most people use a walk through while playing a game so they don't get frustrated or stuck while trying to reach the end as fast as cleanly as possible. I do this so I can go back and play the game as an elitist not worrying about dying all the time and and enjoy the game more that way.

It was probably because it was cheaper, anon.

Although I'm not exactly sure how much cheaper PS1 games compared to N64 ones, but where I lived, finding original copies of PS1 games was almost impossible, every store (even big, renowed stores) had bootleg PS1 copies, all likely coming from China (this was before CD-Rs were common in households or affordable). So my parents convinced me to get a PS1 instead of a N64 too. The console itself was also cheaper than the N64.

Lucky me, my grandma got me a N64 a week later with Super Mario 64, this was right at the release of the console, in october of 1996.
