Gundam Wing: Endless Duel off a gundam fansite

Gundam Wing: Endless Duel is a great fighter even if you don't give a fuck about Gundam and know zero Japanese. It's a very advanced game, not just by SNES standards, and has surprisingly varied cast. Easily tops SF2 on SNES for me.

I researched. The Gundam: Battle Assault series. apparently, it's a lot more realistically slower in combat. because, you know, giant metal robots.
I also heard about the Power Rangers. I'll have to check that out too.

Gundam Wing: Endless Duel on the SNES is almost arcade quality if you look at the sprites. They pulled this off by making each segment a seperate sprite, kind of like Megaman's face in the NES games.

Man, I love this game. It'd have to be my favorite 16-bit fighter. Anyone else play it?

Gundam Wing Endless Duel looks absolutely amazing for SNES standards. It could basically pass for a 2D Playstation game, save for CD audio.
