I dunno, I can't really say I've ever felt like a wad was drug down by looking too good. Marty's Space Pirate I like that we have to clarify now has menus that look absolutely gorgeous. Doesn't really detract from the experience.

Why must such a good game be so ugly? And I don't mean graphically (although that is also true) I mean art direction wise. The game is actively repulsive to look at, and so many things in the game look stupid
