OP here, couldn't sleep, am a bit drunk, decided to play through SH2. Got the "Leave" ending.
I probably shouldn't have set the combat to "Very Easy", because it was really ridiculous. Then again, is there any more combat strategy on higher difficulties than "shoot at it until it dies"? I probably also should have set puzzles to "Hard" since on Normal they were already too easy most of the time.
Anyway, the ending gave me lots of feels, especially since I have actually reflected on the possibility of what happened to James happening to me (well, my girl, you know what I mean) and it really hit me hard. Pic related is not from my own playthrough, but especially the VA's delivery really got me.

That said, gameplay-wise I definitely prefer the first game. Granted, the zodiac puzzle was dogshit, but the game felt well-rounded, at least more than 2; I felt constant dread and the radio just added to that instead of getting extremely loud and annoying like in 2. Also, enemy variety was greater. And it didn't have the fucking labyrinth. Sewers were far less annoying.

That said, I don't quite understand yet what's the deal with Eddie and Angela. Are they just there to show cases of people not "solving" Silent Hill? Or did I miss something?
