7s retranslation on pc is horrendous and very much lacks soul inherent in the english port. Stick to the ps1 script. And the concept art mod, pic related, called i believe "new models" makes the game look like moving nomura art. Its nuts and it is to me a fine addition to the game so as to not have to see the horribly ugly even for the time untextured characters running about. And does include chibi versions as well as battle models

Its a very direct language. It is to the point which is nice in some ways and bad in others. It isnt an inpenetrable language anon i bet even you could learn it if you actually tried to.
