I remember seeing a Sega CDX in a department store on display, back in the day. I remember it being priced at about $400.00 Canadian. The machine has a compartment for two AA batteries, if I remember correctly. Like Sega thought you could use it as a portable CD device. Which made it one of the most expensive portable CD players of its day. I'd just imagine someone taking it to the beach to listen to music, and just getting it filled with sand or stepped on by accident.
