This game is such ass. Every level is exactly the same, the only difference is the background and the floaty controls in space. Occasionally a new Mobile Suit shows up. The only effective strategy is to go into a bottom corner and spam your rifle until it's out of ammo, then just block and when the enemy gets close fire your vulcans. Eventually your rifle reloads and you can fire it again. It's tedious and boring, but doing anything else is a deathwish. For some of the space segments you've got the booster attached which disables your shield and saber, and makes all of your weapons never reload, so when you run out of ammo you have to either die and respawn or rely on a little burst shot that replaces your vulcans.

Then I discovered back on earth again that if you get knocked down and two enemies are surrounding you, you can't actually stand up. They don't fire until you stand up and it knocks you back down. Maybe that's why there's no music from the show in the game, playing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTYPjcrB9l8 wouldn't make sense if it's impossible to stand up.

At least G and Wing were fun fighters, this is just a lazy cashgrab. The cutscenes I praised earlier are very few and far between, and they gloss over the story like crazy. Every major death happens off screen with a pitiful flicker of their character portrait. Shame there's so few really good Gundam games

I remember raging at that game in the car as a kid.
