/vr/ - Retro Games

I absolute refuse to believe anyone likes this game or can enjoy it. There's is nothing good about it aside from the stunning visuals that clearly distract people from everything else.

>Endless cutscenes of people talking about shit you have no understanding of or reason to care about
>Game never evolves
>Nothing is explained
>Entire game is: Walk through an endless amount of square shaped rooms doing either nothing, fighting 2 enemies, or solving really out of place block pushing puzzles, and then you fight a boss that dodges 90% of your attacks, 99% of your chains attacks, or you do no more than 4 damage to
>Risk system completely busted. Doing chains raises risk to extreme levels, by 50 Risk you won't land any attacks, enemies will be doing over half your HP in single hits, and there's no way without an item to reduce it, so you are pushed away from doing chains attacks which is the main gimmick of the game
>Resident Evil item boxes that are slow and require SAVING to use
>Saving takes around 20+ seconds
>UI and menus are horribly unintuitive and not legible
>No levelling
>No RPG elements
>Your attack stats don't matter, all that matters is having a weapon that your enemy doesn't have armor for
>Only way to discover enemy weakness is learn a spell several hours in and it has a good chance of missing for no reason
>Using items like a potion takes FOUR button presses
>No shops
>Horribly limited and confusing inventory


This is literally the worst "jrpg" I've ever played and the greatest looking game on the PS1 and that's the only reason people force themselves to play it or pretend to like it. So please, OP or someone who says they like it, what do you like about it?

The fuck is wrong with you? X4 Zero is complete garbage unless you abuse glitches. Then he's broken. Still not fun, but broken.

Without cheating he has no combos, shit range, gets no good moves, and is awful. He also looks bad in X4 (everything does though, the series became hideous after X3), controls the same, actually half of your points are about controls and make no sense. The hell is wrong with you?
