Replaying BG2, and onto THrone of Bhaal, right at the end in fact. Reviewing everyhting before the big showdown with Melissan, and I noticed that Imoen had a charisma of 5. Remove curse, restoration, nothing I can oviously do brings it back to 16. I tried checkin out my saves, and she seems to have had a CHA of 5 since Shadows of Amn, although I'm not sure exactly when, as the earliest save in this playthrough is a while after getting out of the Underdark.

I'm honestly more confused than anything else. What on earth could have caused that?

In BG2, monks are a 7/10 party member but a 9.5/10 solo class. Monks are not in BG1, so I'm obviously talking about BG2. BG1=BG1. BG1=/=BG1EE.

>can cast infinite cloudkills from wands (sell and buy to replenish) and is completely immune to it so can fight in the middle of it which is awesome
>easily gets 100+ magic resistance
>can get the same amount of strength as a fighter because a monk's primary stat is also strength. I'm talking about game rewards that increase the primary stat.
>running solo equals tons of experience. monks rely more on levels, not equipment. this means that monks will get way stronger, way faster than all other warrior classes.
>low hp is irrelevant thanks to hardiness. cast 3 hardiness to get 120 physical resistance. monks get a total of 21 high level abilities. you might as well get 6 or 9 hardiness and the rest greater whirlwinds.
>highest physical damage among single-class warrior classes alongside the kensai. 1d20+4+4+STRBONUS. No improved haste is irrelevant because of Greater Whirlwinds, and you're solo anyway. Running solo will get you HLAs really really quickly. Monks will have the best physical damage among single-classes for all of Shadows of Amn, including Watcher's Keep, until you begin the TOB storyline content. So idiots who constantly say that a monk's damage is not as good as X or Y is talking about the last 5% of the game which is just a couple of boss fights. M-muh Foebane+5, m-muh Ravager, m-muh Axe of the Unyielding, etc. Yeeeeaaaah, enjoy using those weapons for the final 20-30 minutes of the game. For the other 95% of the game, when comparing solo single-classes, a monk has the absolute best physical damage output alongside the kensai. This wasn't the case in SOA, but thanks to GWW, it is the case in TOB.

I just played through BG1 for the first time thanks to the Steam Sale, and now I'm going back into BG2 for what has to be the 8th or 9th time.

I'm playing a chaotic good Berserker (fighter kit), and frankly, I'm fucking sick of all of the clerics. I can't stand Aerie, despite her awesome dual-class nature, but I don't really like Anomen much either, and Viconia's just going to bitch about everything.

Honestly, I never noticed how whiny a lot of the NPCs in BG2 were when I was younger, but now so many of them grate on me. I'm sort of wondering if a party of all fighters and mages could get through, or if I really need one of those whiny clerics.

Also, Infinity engine game discussion, I guess.

Hello /vr/, I have already played all Baldur's Gate games but this thread made me wanna replay them.

Problem is that while I said that I "played" them, all my 10/11 year old self did was autoattack everything to death and use cheats when the enemies fucked me up.

Since you guys already gave some tips for BG1, can you also give me some tips for BG2 and Throne of Bhaal?
