I think that's what the Windas program is supposed to do. I have not tried it yet.

I have no idea what any of those words mean. It is a dying monitor and these are just some of the symptoms. I think someone said over time Sony monitors tend to fall out of spec or something, and these monitors have been with me for a very long time.

Cobra Mission. One of my most favorite games in my youth. Thought it would be amusing with pixel art trying to imitate scanlines on a screen with scanlines, but my Xperia Play dumbphone doesn't have a good camera when I took it.

It is a Sony GDM-FW900. This is an image of it in its dying days as described. Forgive my Chinese phone, but I have no idea how to take pictures of CRT imagery. The brighter and darker horizontal lines aren't visible to me and is probably a result of my cheap dumbphone. Another bad effect in its dying days, if you can see, are some diagonal blue lines that increase as it reaches the top of the screen. Also visible is how blurry the video has gotten.

How do I find a person that can do such capacitor changes? It's not like I have any use for having stocks of spare capacitors around. How much do these skilled tradesman technicians charge for such work to be done?

So what monitor could I replace it with? No one is willing to let go of any BVMs and I won't have another monitor as fondly loved as the FW-900. My only hope is to have it fixed. I feel somewhere along the timeline, we made a poor decision to end out here.

I had a 486DX4 that I kept all the way until 2007 (with Windows 3.11). When I had to move, I made the poor decision to throw it out. I chose to self-punish myself by getting a system with the same processor (but with more RAM now) just for sentimental reasons. I will primarily use it for DOS games, like Origin Systems games, Sierra point & click adventures, the many great Epic Megagames titles, etc.

I thought Win98SE had a slightly updated DOS, and for convenience, I used that philscomputerlab .PIF file to DOS for convenience. Plus I did enjoy Win95 Puyo Puyo 2, Queen of Tenshindo, Monopoly Deluxe, and Solitaire + Reversi + Minesweeper can always eat up time in Windows. I wish I had installed J-Win98SE instead, but I am not going through the install process again, until I get myself a larger HDD (I will need to save for a few months).

I know there used to be the Gravis Gamepad, but that looked awkward to me (I also had consoles to play with back then). I do remember that a Street Fighter PC game came with a Genesis styled 6-button controller, but I cannot find much info or images of that.
