Let's have a thread to talk about our general Sega games, memories, and stories.

I didn't know a whole lot of other people in my life who had a Master System or Genesis, and even today with Nintendo waving it's dick around (worthwhile or not) people still don't seem know bout my Sega.

A lot of the kids in my school had NES or SNES, and a Gameboy to follow it up. I had a Genesis, and the only way I could fit in with the other kids for the longest time was to read game magazines to at least pretend I knew what they were talking about.

The kids who knew I played Sega made a big deal out of it. While some didn't care, a few had to make a scene in the cafeteria when they saw me reading Mean Machines Sega that I'd get from the book store (we could buy British mags there).

Typically someone would call me a faggot for liking Sega, and it's strange how the argument over console preference hasn't ever changed.

Sonic 3 was a big deal for Sega gamers when it came out. I was going to be renting it from our neighbor's rental store as soon as they got it, and they were holding a copy just for me. I was so damn excited over it that I let it slip that I couldn't wait to play it. One of the kids in my class snicked at me and said "Sonic is for retards!" It didn't mean anything back then, but every time over the years that I saw Sonic get worse, every time I saw a recolor... I want to shed a tear.
