You didnt read the other post but ill go through it again
1) The weapon, spell school, and crafting balance is utterly fucked. Guns have the worst damage until the late game and will blow up in your face until you get expert training in addition to their ammo being harder to get and more expensive than arrows. The spells that scale off of aptitude are all retarded broken and come online way too early -- the best damaging spell in the game is the first one in the black necromancy school. Summon Orc and summon Ogre also scale off of it, so they are much stronger than any other summon spell since they conjure up fully armored level 50 20 str 20 dex max mastery barbarians swinging greatswords out of thin air. When you get high aptitude, something most mage characters will do by level 20 out of a 50 level cap, your mage character will not develop at all other than picking up spells you dont need so you dont die of boredom -- you have no useful content after you max one or two schools.
2) You don't do anything in combat other than spam one spell or click on the enemy.
In Fallout your aimed shots have huge impact, and your consumables are really strong. In Arcanum the only tactical option is to use Stun grenades or the stun spell if you have either and thats about it
3) Complete void of enemy variety. This entire damn game is spent beating up angry skeletons, zombies, and pissed off apes who cast no spells or do anything interesting, they just bumrush and statcheck you. You can count the number of ranged and spellcaster enemy types on one hand.
4) Complete void of AI. Mages, as rare as they are, will cast garbage spells once or twice, and then charge into melee. If they dont just charge you anyhow.
Fallout didnt have great AI either, but it occasionaly gave you enemies that would be much easier to tackle if you used your fucking head

Think that's it. I tried to focus on actual design flaws. If I went into how many other things were useless, broken, or just fucked this would take at least two more full posts. Didn't touch upon prowling, or the issues with the towns themselves or any balance beyond the one weapon type that should have been good not being good at all.

This game deserves more flak or this genre will remain dead in the mud forever. It did the crpg reactivity part somewhat well but everything else is atrocious. Build variety is pointless when nothing works as it should.
