Fans of this chart would also probably like MoonRPG, even though nothing about it can be considered grotesque, it carries a similar atmosphere that, though not particularly horrifying, is rich n heavy and really makes the game memorable. Also the music kicks ass.

Yeah, if people wanted to play games they already did by learning Japanese or playing fan translations.

Here's another. Supposedly only localized after they realized Undertale made it popular because the creator said it inspired him and there was money to be made.

I just started this. It reminds me of Chulip so far, just set in a Dragon Quest world. It’s real ugly.

Moon is maximum atmosphere if you let yourself be totally immersed in it. If you get stuck don't look up a walkthrough but try and follow a single character for an entire day (or week) to see what they get up to, or just hang out in a specific area an entire day to see what happens there, there are always surprises.

On top of this the game encourages just waiting around and chilling by having an in-game CD player and tons of collectable CDs full of original music composed just for the game.

I heard this got a complete translation recently, but when I tried to look there doesn't seem to be anything. Did this board lie to me?

I was wondering earlier if they'd challenge Moon (PS1), seeing as it got some extra attention from the Switch port. It's a really good game, maybe a long one, but he's played SMRPG and EarthBound. Can't imagine Arino beating it on time, though.

I watch the RAWs occasionally, if it's a game I'm interested in, and sometimes games I've never played too. I treat it as practice.

Now that a switch port is on the way, do you think someone will extract the translation and inject it into the ps1 original game (for those of us that dont own a switch)

What Japanese games that were never brought over to the West does /vr/ recommend? I'm currently studying the language and feel comfortable enough to finally get around to playing some.
