So for me Caleb from Blood (1997) is one of my faviorite character from old games ever.

I cannot get enough of Blood. It just feels so fucking good. This is the first time in 15 years where I'm actually looking at a games modding community instead of just moving onto the next game. I just beat deathwish. The spooky horror levels based on Silent Hill, The Thing, Jigsaw, etc were all pretty cool and interesting. The cinematics were really taking me out of the game though. What are other good Blood mods?

Man the FMV at the beginning is so bad. Apparently Caleb is bald due to a miscommunication with the artist and limitations of the software and not having time to change it

Is there a retro game series more based or so much the epitome of the grimdark 90s as BLOOD?

He was originally just a worshipper of Tchernobog and in the prototypes he uses the portrait and sprite of a cultist, which was originally the intent. He was later changed to be more unique and was made one of the "chosen", the four most elite and evil of the followers of Tchernobog. Caleb was just an old West outlaw type before he met Ophelia, another of the chosen who led him to Tchernobog.

At the beginning of Blood, Caleb and the other three chosen are betrayed by Tchernobog, Opehlia is abducted and the rest are killed. You later rise from the dead so you would be an undead ghoul type since you also eat flesh at times. It turns out Tchernobog betrayed you and resurrected you because he knew you would stop at nothing for revenge, especially after you found your love Ophelia dead, and Tchernobog knew Caleb was special in that with each he killed, he grew more powerful. Tchernobog planned to have you kill all the way to him and then he would kill you and absorb your power you unknowingly raised and delivered right to him. Of course, Caleb throws a wrench in those plans which leads to the travesty that is Blood 2.

I've looked up on the Blood wiki.
It says Caleb was born 1847 and was betrayed/died in 1871. Which makes him 24 years old.

Where this information comes from exactly? He seems to be in his 30s/40s at best.

So, what should we expect from the Blood remaster? Is the company doing it known for good and true-to-the-original remasters?

Will they just fix resolutions, mouseaim, compatibility etc. making the remaster the best and most accurate way to play vanilla Blood? Or are there changes in gameplay in visuals to be expected?
