Have you actually played NES games lately? They kinda suck. NES games have something called artificial difficulty to make the game appear longer than they actually are by wasting your time when you run out of lives/continues. NES games are BAD DESIGN.

I think he has a point on checkpoints, but I his comments on other things just prove he doesn't really like difficulty.
