Malice fans (or haters), I've taken the code from the patched moddb release and doing some tweaks to it to try to smooth out the rough edges of the game. So far I've got:
>game no longer forces FOV changes on you (some cutscenes may look odd, haven't tested fully)
>crazy enemy health scaling by difficulty removed and replaced with +10% faster think rate per skill level + some per-enemy behavior tweaks on different skill levels
>shotguns no longer consume double the ammo they logically would
>explosive barrel health cut from 120 to 40 so they're actually worth shooting
>turrets will actually swivel towards instead of just snapping you so you can dodge them
>magazine ammo tracks correctly per weapon instead of resetting for various reasons (might try to figure some CSQC hud stuff for a magazine ammo indicator)

If you've got any ideas let me know. I'm not trying to do anything too crazy though, just trying to make Malice a bit better since it's pretty overlooked.

MALICE also had reloading for most if its weapons, but it's hard to tell how popular that game was since it required Quake and came bundled with it (and Shrak) in some circumstances.

Unusual question, but would anyone know how I'd go about figuring out what tracker instruments are used in the soundtrack for MALICE? Only asking here because I've seen some lengthy midi discussion before.
