and yet people their buy Apple products all the time, watch American TV shows and movies. Maybe it's just that Microsoft has a difficult time reaching Japan (besides OS software and other things). They have never had a foothold in the console space in the country, and I doubt they ever will.

I have a SNES Controller box stuffed with Premo SNES game Manuals. I have a tub filled with random paperwork and game manuals from Atari to 360. I have a book shelf's worth of Game Guides.
I did have a very nice copy of the Earthbound Guide, but I sold it since it got over two hundred dollars for just for the guide and it felt silly not selling it at the time.

Games on PSX need CRT filters. PC versions fail to compare the comfy blur

Seems like you are talking about an entirely different subject now, but alright. My only point was I thought vidya ads back then were edgey, cringy but charming. I like them, even for their "faults". They were fun. I feel like most (if not all) were tongue and cheek. I appreciate that. I am just interested in the culture war from both sides

Not trying to be a dick, but a CRT really is the best way to get the most of your PS2. Unless you want to invest 100's of dollars to make it look acceptable on your HD or 4K TV. While for newcomers this must be annoying, I am sure you could easily find a CRT at a fair price somewhere in the wild. The only thing that would be annoying is finding the space for the CRT

Thanks Anon, that makes total sense actually. I was tempted to sell the game now, but after hearing the story I am not so sure anymore. I got the game (and a few other fighting games) in a video game swap about 10 years back. I traded some Nintendo Powers and demo discs

Do you own a VR headset? I have an Index and been an early enthusiast, the truth is that VR is still jittery and can't replicate all the other sense like touch, smell, temperature, proprioception. EmuVR is a novelty at best compared to the real thing but way too many people spent their entire lives in their room and don't know any better.

At least do it for another anon for no reason at all with nothing to gain: next time you see some retro shit, just buy it and make it work. It will make you happier than you imagine. Then think about emulation and how you can optimize your time because it's a pain in the ass to set up but way too rewarding to play on original hardware. Especially if you have hardware issues you have to fix on your own like a big boy. Learning to recap a board will be usefeul for other things.

ps1 doesn't use analog instead of dpad, you don't miss anything for playing with a keyboard.
