Sometimes they were older people who weren't in to consoles (which were marketed for babbies back then) or simply their family didn't have the money until it was released. Cartridges are expensive y'know.

The PSX had plenty of arcadey stuff just like the N64 did. It just had a ton more story-based titles than the N64 could support due to the cartridge limitation (which would have been fixed by the DD). Don't get mad just because there are games on a system that even if you owned, you'd never play anyway because you aren't personally interested.

Each to their own. Personally I can't stand the completely overboard texture filter on the N64, but it was possible on the PSX to have good detail texture work without pixellation. If you set up your geometry right, affine texture warping is minimal. Both consoles have jaggies due to their low resolution output, and that's okay. Grab a CRT.

Never heard anyone say this about either console. It was always about Descent (DOS, 1995) or Doom or full 3d graphics in general. A shit game on the PSX with affine warping out the ass will give it more though,
