Spiders in general. My first videogame spook with them was Might and Magic 3 : There's this thick forest so you only vaguely see what's in the next square. So when my party engaged with that wiggling fucker I flipped out.

TES:Arena and MM3 spiders freaked me out as an arachnophobiac.

If you've played MM3, you'll remember that thick forest area with screamers where you can't see what the next wood square has in store. And South of it, fucking spiders wiggling their creepy legs (I wish I had a gif of pic related)

Not retro, but the MMO Vindictus' "The Five Spider Brothers" bossfight had me turn off the sound and look away, trying to mash my way out with my hair raised.

Damn spiders were the only thing to really make me panic, but I somehow managed to grow out of it.
