/vr/ - Retro Games

Hey guys, I'm back after a slew of health/family issues. I've decided to not start off with the NES, as I seem to have a problem with keeping those videos up and a LOT of people tend to cover that system. I'm going to try to do more of the less covered stuff to begin with and then eventually move into the main "core" systems. I figured that I'd start with the handhelds, more specifically the Game Boy Original and Game Boy Color.

The first game is called 2nd Space. I couldn't find a box-art shot of it. It's apparently a part of a compilation cartridge, but for some reason the game was packaged into a rom by itself.

I played this game WAY longer then I probably needed to. You play as a chibi car that needs to cover the board in order to reveal a picture of the same building over and over again. While doing this, you need to avoid 1-2 random enemies that roam around and sporadically shoot projectiles at you.

It's an alright game, but is nothing more that a time-waster and isn't really worth picking up and playing.

I'm back and I'm ready to play. No more indecision or deletions, what you see is what you get. For those of you that don't know, I've started a channel with the goal of trying out as many games as I possibly can. I'm starting with the NES, but I plan to cover a bunch of other consoles later on down the line. Videos will differ in length, but most should be at least 10 minutes, unless the title really doesn't warrant that much time. I'm going to try for at least 2 videos a day, but my updating schedule will highly depend on my RL stuff. I'll be starting tonight, so thanks for watching and hopefully you'll find some games that interest you.

Remaking the thread since my last one 404'd. This is my current channel, might make a new one if this pans out.

I'm making a YouTube Channel with the ultimate goal of compiling gameplay footage of as many games as possible. This is ranging from the entire spectrum of gaming, from old school to new school. Originally, I was planning on compiling all this content on my own, but realized that was kind of silly and would take me literally FOREVER.

While I still plan to upload quite a bit of my own stuff, I'd like to know if there is anybody here that would like to help contribute? You can help me in a myriad of ways. The most useful would be actual videos of any games not already on the channel. These would just be samples of the game, enough to showcase what the game has to offer and interest any viewers who might like it. There should be no commentary in these. I will also accept speed-runs and playthroughs, but they will have there own section apart from the main lists.

I also plan to turn the descriptions of each video into a small encyclopedia for each game. It will have all kinds of info such as; alternate titles, back stories, random trivia, links to guides, hacks, etc. This is another area where I'll gladly accept help.

Of course, all credit will go to the ones who submitted them. Would anybody even be interested in this? I know there are "encyclopedia" sites out there, but I'm pretty sure none of them are based around actual gameplay footage of the games.

Hey guys, I've decided to try out every game for the NES. This is a very long term project and I thought it'd be interesting to start a thread where we can talk about each one I try. Naturally, we don't have to stick to any one game. Talk about your favorite game, favorite track or about the NES in general. I do have a YT channel where I'll be posting vids of each game, but I'll only post it if people are interested. I know you guys don't like getting spammed with that shit.

No videos this time, I swear. I've basically given up on that idea. It takes too much time, I don't receive any satisfaction from it and it appears to be annoying you guys. I'm still going to be playing through the libraries of each system looking for good games though. I figured I'd post about each game I try out and hopefully get some input and opinions from members here. That's what I'm more interested in. Hopefully we can have some interesting conversations. I'll contain everything in this thread.
