Plus who's the translator to remove something completely just because HE finds it "boring"? I personally find Dragon Ball Z boring. Would I change everyone's names for no reason because I find it trash? That's how mythology gags get lost in "translation" (or more appropriately in "localization", which is ironically about preserving and conveying intent) like Puff-puff and Toriyama's signature vegetable themed ridiculous character names (one of them claimed by yet another outdated musical band reference in Woosley's Chrono Trigger)

We don't even have to wonder "what if" scenarios here, since we have the answer. The asshole at Capcom and his wife apparently loved Guns 'n Roses and hated the game. It was as simple as that. It really shows how much a damn he gave about the project as a whole when you see stuff like pic related.
