Is there any real reason to update to a newer version of Retroarch?

I'm still on a version from a couple years ago with the old UI (better IMO than the new one), and I just update the cores every now and then.

Does the newer version have benefits over the older one?

I would have came rainbows over Galaxy if the worlds had been closer to SM64 sized. The one with the bees was close but it was one of only like 2-3 places that size in the entire game.

To be fair, they designed the gameplay around Wii limitations. Flying from little world to little world, they can pack polygons into whatever structure you're on right then, but it diminishes in polycount until it's a sprite in the distance when you fly away from it. Then you land on the next one, etc.

This way they could ape the kinds of polycounts seen in proper next gen consoles plus some cheap but effective rim lighting and a single shader. That was enough that Galaxy could visually hold its own against the average Xbox 360 game, difference in resolution notwithstanding.

Buddy, listen. We have a friendly, civil board here. Miraculously it has stayed that way since it was born. I don't know about you but I like that casual well meaning atmosphere of fellow retro game fans brought together by their shared hobby. Don't ruin that please.

People complain alot about the gouging and bloating of SNES and pre-1996 video games as a whole, but has anyone noticed how dirt cheap Gameboy games are?

There's like 15 side quests. How many do you want?
http://chrono.wikia.com/wiki/Sidequest

Is 20 hours not enough? I'm happy with it, how long do you want it do be?

Yeah, the overworld sucks but it'd be tedious as fuck traveling from some places to others over and over and over, seeing as you'd have to do it in multiple time lines.

I agree with the Megaman level linearity and it could improve there, but oh well.

It did however handle time travel really well but that's just like my opinion man.

This is one of my absolute favorite turn based RPGs but I don't really like that genre. Maybe that's a lot of other people's reasoning for liking it too; people who aren't into the genre can get into the game all the same.

That's one theory. Of course, Sonic 3 was in production around the first time he got accused of child molestation, so there's also that to consider.

I disagree.
They've been the same ever since they started.
