It's got plenty, and it doesn't matter. That's the mark of a classic

It's pretty plain that the design of the original game comes from somewhat of a lack of imagination on the devs' behalf about the possibilities of a 3D platformer, but it turned out great and became its own thing anyway.
My favourite is probably the second one; it polishes the mechanics of the first, without the multigenre bullshit of the third.
