Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap.

It was probably the first game I've ever completed and was part of the happiest time of my life. Decades later, when I learned that something miraculous like emulation exists, I was hesitant. What if the game wasn't as good as I remember it? I ignored it for years until one day when I just said "fuck it" and tried it. Turns out the game is still as awesome as it was back in my childhood.

I keep coming back to it from time to time and enjoy every single second of it.

Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap, pic related. The music and areas are so damn comfy it makes me relaxed whenever I hear it (though since I played the European version I'm used to the slower music).

Also: Golden Axe Warrior for Sega Master System. Exploran, killan, crystal collectan.

Wonder Boy 3 is my favorite Metroidvania.

I managed to pick up Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap today, pic related. Though it's a lot more difficult than I remember (those ninjas in the underwater shipwreck are hard as fuck) it's still a damn good game in my book.

I also love Golden Axe Warrior, a great LoZ clone that I prefer to the original LoZ itself.
