I love that retro anime style. Fun fact everyone knows. Toshiyuki Kubooka who did work on Lunar also worked on the awesome Giant Robo ova.

I feel like 4 or 5 is the best number for a whole party. Seems like the easiest amount of character to balance without the party becoming redundant in terms of abilities and personalities. I think what I mostly just prefer though is the game not overloading you with dudes to the point where you have to bench half the roster for no reason or characters just stick around for no reason other than to pad the roster.

Eternal Blue is probably my favorite party in gaming, especially in terms of making sure the characters remain relevant.

The first one without question. It's not just a mater of party viability it's a matter of balancing the narrative. You keep the party small and it's easier to keep them all relative throughout. It's certainly doable with a larger cast, especially when it gets closer to the double digits a lot of characters just sort of hang around only occasionally adding a bit of "Me too" dialogue. So better to keep the party small and focuses.

Better in some areas worse in others. You really can't go wrong with either.

While SSC is much better than CD SS, CD Eternal Blue actually holds up much much better so really it boils down to a matter of preference. I have and enjoy both too this day, so whichever you can get your mits on will work wonders

Word of advice, the CD version is much much MUCH harder. Like sweet Jesus fucking Christ you have no idea how hard some of these bosses where.
