I basically want to finish off SMT1 (I think I've got a fair chunk of game to go, I am in the middle of the Police Station). After that is SMT2.

I doubt I will be able to play IF because the translation is never coming out. After that I'm kind of stumped, because there are a large number of options, depending whether I just want to focus on the main games, side series, chronological release order, etc.

I tried to make it through KMT but its sure a brutal slog. The big problem I ran into was it turned into a sheer time issue. Very little of the things you want to do in the game can be accomplished quickly.

About 2/3 of the way through MT1 real life interfered and I just dropped the game.

I wouldn't mind going and playing SMT 1 and 2 though. Fuck those people who are all like "those games are too old, play persona 4 instead!" Starting this series at the beginning is a way more interesting way to go through it.

I'm not really a fan of the modern Persona games, but recently I've been reading about the precursor to the Persona series, Shin Megami Tensei. Unlike the spinoff, these seem like high concept RPG games that are stuffed with really interesting ideas and unique mechanics.

The problem is, I have no idea where to begin with such a huge series. Do I start with the original NES Megami Tensei games? Is the SNES a better place to begin? Or are the later titles in the series like the PS2 game the best places for a newcomer to begin?
