/vr/ - Retro Games

I know /vr/ it's not just one person, just like every other board here, but i'll ask anyway: why most of you guys think Doom II has terrible level design? I'm not an expert, only a player, and as such i can only say that frankly, i liked it a lot. Maybe the first chapter set the crossbar way too high? I want to know your opinion about this.
