/v/, I just noticed something about console war.

Like in the ancient times (and still today), people fight each other causing war. You may say nowdays that's because of geopolitical reasons. But it all allways all started with wars about gods, about religion.

In nowday's world, religion just isn't as strong as before. With doctrines like capitalism and socialist growing bigger, religion was left put on a lower level, even though it still has its strong presence in the world, and even participate on actual war as well.

But what I mean is. In today's world, people forgot about their old gods and acquired new ones.
Console warriors are the example of that. They venerate their overlords and make their offerings to them (how many bastards out there have stopped eating to support their beloved favorite video game company?).

Then people fight in war. Internet and especially boards like this are the arena for this. Take /v/ as the training ground. Get good enough at shitposting with enough elocuence that you can actually fool people into believing you have an argument other than "I'm a huge corporate dick-eating fanboy" and you can start getting your shit through in more mainstream sites and even maybe get into video games journalism, which is like a sort of priest position.

Now I want to note here that, ironically enough, the Dorito Pope meme is actually pretty spot on. Goeff might actually be the Pope of all this bullshit. But that doesn't mean anything right now.
What I mean is, look at us. Look at this whole board, fuck look at the whole internet discussing video games.
All they do is wait for news of future plans of their overlords to come, and then start predicting whether this or that will happen. (cont)
