just get one of these bro. they're worth the $ because it's all in one so no need to collect all expensive system cards and you don't have to deal with physical discs and drives.

It definitely feels cursed to me. I bought mine last year planning to get a Super SD System 3 to go with it, but it just so happened to be discontinued and sold out the very same day. Only options now are the everdrive that doesn't do CD games and the HD version of the SSDS3, which is the same exact shit but has HDMI out and hiked up to $320USD. Such a steep as fuck price tag, but all I have for PCE games are kung fu and f1 racing
