>D-Zero
Fucking pathetic compared to Mega Drive demos, it's actually pretty funny just how far behind the SNES is when compared to even the 5 years older Amiga.

No wonder the SNES struggled so hard with action games, it is practically a generation behind of it's 16-bit peers.

You would have a very powerful console with extremely fast CPU, high resolution and vivid colour, sharp and crisp audio, which developers would find a joy to work with. And then you would have the SNES part of the board.

That is also a quite funny comparison, as it actually runs BETTER on the STOCK Mega Drive. Just how pathetic was Nintendo hardware? It seems just about anything could run circles around it.

Of course, despite it showing EXACTLY what I am talking about in Overdrive 2, transparencies done WITH EASE, you are going to try to tell me that because Earthbound is a game, the Mega Drive will magically not be able to recreate these far more simplistic effects, despite Earthbound being a turn based RPG with no action. Yawn.
It is honestly quite pathetic that the tendies have SO LITTLE to show for their precious 2.68 mhz SNES that they have to flaunt wholly unimpressive games like Earthbound in a bid to impress people.

Panorama Cotton, Kid Chameleon, Alien Soldier. Difficult choice however, as the Mega Drive's library is simply top-tier.

If you keep shouting "TRANNY!!" and foaming at the mouth, maybe your shit SNES will magically grow a better CPU and be capable of decent games.

More and more are coming to the realization that what I say is correct, the shit SNES has been massively overrated for decades now, when in reality, it was never good, nowhere near the standards being set in the otherwise excellent 16-bit generation. Whereas years ago it was the norm to consider the SNES "good", if not "the best console ever", these days that discourse never goes unquestioned. Are you getting nervous, nintendrone?

The reason the shit SNES has no homebrew is because, quite simply, it is shit. The CPU runs at a mere 1/3rd the speed of not merely the Mega Drive, but ALL it's competitors. The segmented memory map prevents you from addressing more than 8 KB RAM without switching banks. There are only 16 KBs of VRAM for sprites. Even much older platforms such as the Mega Drive, PC Engine, Amiga, don't have these horrid constraints. Your efforts are better spent doing homebrew development on one of the better 16-bit platforms, because you will be able to do far more before hitting the cap of the system's limitations, than you would on the SNES. It is simply not capable of games of the same depth and scope as it's competitors.

>deflect deflect deflect!! no, the AMIGA is shit!!!
Even if that were true (it's not), the SNES is still thoroughly beaten by the Mega Drive, PC Engine, X68000, Neo Geo, and arcade platforms. You nintendrones are still in last place.

>HE'S JUST A TROLL, NOBODY COULD EVER THINK PRECIOUS NINTENDO IS SHIT!!!!!!!!
Over 90% of commercially released NES games had to rely on expensive cheating expansion chips to match the stock capabilities of other 8-bit consoles and computers.
The SNES, despite being 2 years newer than the Mega Drive, ran at a mere 1/3rd the speed of all it's competitors.
The N64, despite being 2 years newer than the Playstation, has less than 10 games that run at 60 FPS.
You've been lied to your whole life.

Even there, the advantage is dubious. Despite having twice as much RAM as the Mega Drive, all but 8 kb was locked away in separate banks. In order to use the remaining 120 kb, one would have to switch to one of the RAM banks, which would cut off access from the cartridge. So basically, all but 8 kb of the RAM on the SNES was totally useless and often unused. The Mega Drive could access all 64 kb RAM without limitation.
