melee is fun in this game and feels really nice, but having recently run my first 100% magic character its insane how OP it can get even if early game is such shit.

usually I just grind easy quests for guilds for cash then use that for training and fast levelling through the early levels

you can at least do vampire quests and embrace the night

desu I think being a were-creature is more fun
though I like RPing as a vampire, once on my (only) wizard character I became a vamp and just stalked the dungeons under Daggerfall city for prey, coming out at night to kill

also the mage guild assassins quest is super easy and can net you a shit ton of gold since you can just repeat it over and over.
