The show was pretty much a big deal in its day. I remember first reading about the game on the Gainax website. They were promoting the game with its basic premise of a mysterious new student that has taken interest in the protagonist. It was enough to get me interested but I was unable to afford the game, and made a decision to get the screensavers CD-ROMs instead. I did not too long after got the game bootlegged from a clothing store and I thought it was paced directly like an actual episode of the show. It was a bit disappointingly cheap that they used the same voice talent that portrayed Ayanami to do Kirishima but I thought it was still a good game and a great new character. The game was not my first visual novel, but still one I like because I like the female characters of the show.

There's just a lot of misconceptions here, so I do kind of mind. Most of what I have cater to my tastes which is not what the majority like. Most here don't enjoy visual novels nor Saturn games, which made them the only games I could afford at the time that I grew to enjoy, so they are not shit to me unlike what you may think. Having a few games physically does not imply disposable income, as mentioned it was all I could afford was the bootleg of the game. My official position is associate where I work and my employer is very anti-union so my wage is barely above the national minimum.

The story just fits in so well. It is like another episode of the series. Not only is it authentic to the anime, it is one of the best in its genre.

It is one of my favorite visual novels, since it was like another episode of the TV series at the time. I have no idea how my reception would change of it now, since it has been decades since it aired.

You get Asuka butt, but miss out on Mana de-toweling. If that was left in the Saturn version, it would upgrade its rating from green label to a yellow/red label title.

I remember it was what the official Gainax English portal site called the game. It is pretty accurate as 鋼鉄のガールフレンド means "Girlfriend of Steel".

I like the game too, but when I think about it, I may not have given it the same attention if not for the game being based on an already known franchise. I mean, I don't like Evangelion, but I do like Ayanami, Asuka, Misato, Hikari, Maya, and of course after that game, Mana reigning supreme.

As for the Collector's CD-ROMs, I still have not completed my J-Win98SE build since I cannot find someone to repair my CRT monitor. It is always on my mind that I promised I will rip the Collector's CD-ROM because one anon keeps asking nicely. However, I expect someone else to rip them first as I have a lot of financial issues to overcome before I finally get around to it.
