Maybe that game was actually based on Rose Red. Might make more sense.

Turrican 2 is pretty neat. It's kind of feels like the european contra it is. It really sucks that you can only shoot left or right with the main weapon. You get a stun lightning gun which you can rotate around your body for some reason.
