Can we once and for all settle what the difference between softlock and hardlock is?

>softlock
Game is unbeatable, but you can move around freely and do stuff like battling or talking to NPCs
>hardlock
Game is unbeatable, and you can't even move your character, but the game is still running.

I am SO TIRED of people calling hardlocks softlocks
