Only PC could have games published in a wood chest just because. I miss those days, buying a game felt like something special and the package made the price of a new release feel worth it.

I loved the huge boxes with tons of extras. The extense detailed manuals. Buying some game felt like serious shit. Magazines gave you free games and lots of demos.
On-line multiplayer felt like the future and everyone larped like crazy.
There was million-seller 2D games even in 2000's , there wasn't this obsession of all having to use polygons. Isometric games were beautiful. Some modern genres weren't truly defined so every developer just tried their own thing, unlike today when you can see every sandbox made from the same mold.
And you could also find cool budget games from studios you never heard.
It was beautiful.

At the time I didn't even get it was a bug, just thought it was Jaheira being annoying as usual and seeing drows everywhere. It didn't help my appreciation of the character, that's for sure.

Also, I still regreet to this day not buying pic related for 2000 pts. more than the normal edition.
