Only difference I could notice was that "Inside the Claw Machine" had 5 background layers on SNES and 3/4 on Genesis, everywhere else is equal. Maybe the parallax effect is more convincing on Genesis, but I couldn't tell.

The Genesis version does load and run faster, though. Shows more images when recapping the story between levels, too.

I was talking about the fake 3D backgrounds, it's like the effect used in DKC2's ship interiors but more advanced. You can see the back legs of the table get revealed as it moves across the screen, like it was a "real" 3d object.
