I cannot speak for others, but the Sega Saturn is one of my most favorite consoles because it gave me so many great gaming experiences and continues to do so. A top 5 gaming console to me, for sure. The library has titles which appeal to me, but I can admit that they aren't typically the kinds of games that others like which could contribute to how I see it as overhated. Part of the reason it resonates with me was the games were cheap in its day because it was so rejected by others which gave me the opportunity to actually have a chance at trying them out. In a group setting with my friends, we all enjoyed the quirkyness and there was always something new to discover. I think the system has gotten more exposure to many others thanks to ODE and emulation improvements which gave them the chance at trying out the games too, but like all things Sega, it is for very particular tastes which was not for the majority.

I have no idea, but it was my main system at the time. I even feel I probably was from an alternate timeline, but I can easily accept the truth that most people don't like Sega styled games. It is simply that the games which appeal to me are not ones that most others like. Sort of like dark brews, like Guiness, an acquired taste, which most do not like but for a certain few it's great. I'm pretty happy with the games from the Sega Saturn, but I don't expect anyone else to like it and that is fine with me as it is one of my most favorite consoles of all time. It is simply my opinion, as you are free to have your own as well.

Not initially, as I had the original Playstation first as a Christmas present, but eventually it needed to be turned onto its side or upside-down in order to play games. At that point I decided to switch over and make the Saturn my primary system for multiplats. I remember getting specifically that model and those controllers, and in the same day my friends drove me around to sell those controllers for a single grey Japanese modeled one, then to another place to get it modded with a switch for different regions. I was so glad to have gotten into the Saturn, since everything was cheap for the system because no one wanted it. Of a friend circle of around 12 people, 5 of us did have the system, and it was always great in showing off what new or weird game we found at our bi-weekly gatherings. Of the same group of 12, only 4 had N64s, and Playstation count was at 7 in those days. To this day the Saturn is a top 5 most favorite console for me just because of all the clearance games I got and wound up loving.

The console is still one of my most favorites. Just because it gave me so much entertainment on a budget. A joy in our bi-weekly gatherings showing off all sorts of different and interesting titles.

Games that appeal to me. The system is one of my top 5 game consoles of all time. At the time, the games were really cheap in clearance bins, so it was great when I had little money.

Saturn. Lots of games I really like to play. Nostalgic memories of fun times showing off new games at the time.

Hell yeah. While I did get the Playstation first, it started to fail, and instead of getting a replacement, I chose to get a Saturn. The games were all on discount and in clearance bins which is why the system is the one with the most physical titles I have beating out even the 360. As much as this board hates the games, they are still the kinds of games I like playing.

Yo, that's one of the more fun comics of recent times, glad it has an animated version now. The guy got transported to another world while in a coma and reawakened into this reality. He totally missed out on the ending to Evangelion, and had no idea of tunderes, Totally relatable as I enjoyed Sega stuff too in its day, I wonder if he'd come to the same conclusion as I did that our tastes don't align with most.

He maintains that Guardian Heroes is a really good game too. He'll be happy that it is playable on the Xbox 360.

I have accepted that what I like don't have the mass appeal. While I don't have enough money to support what I do like, most others have supported the games they do like, and it is nice some of those are still appealing to me.
