assumed clarification: it's pointless if you can *pick up* a key before finding the door for it
simply being shown a key for a door you haven't found is not pointless.

pictured: the very start of nerve.wad map01. i have not moved except turning ~45 degrees to the left. yet, there's a key. what's it for? how do i get out there? already i am intrigued :-)
