I'm afraid there is not that much interest in it, and I only played three TBS franchises - HoMM (III & V), Disciples (only II), and Age of Wonders (only III) - so I wouldn't be able to contribute much to the general thread. Maybe someone with far more experience in playing TBSs than I would like to try it.

Disciples II as an absolute hot mess of a video game and I wouldn't like it any other way. Never played multiplayer but I imagine it is dreadfully frustrating and imba as fuck.
However, building a stack of 5 Deaths (immune to weapon and death-based damage, 60 initiative and strong single-target attack) and one Lich Queen sitting in the back row (necessary hero if you want to progress thru the Undead campaign) destroying everything on the map is one of the highlights of my entire gaming career.
