Well I've tried it twice and stage 9 is as far as I can get. There's too much shit on the screen to tell when you're getting shot at or if you're actually hitting anything, and you don't get a whole lot of missiles which seem to be the only reliable way of killing anything. I even tried to play passively and just avoid all the enemy attacks, but they just overwhelm you completely.
