>I really wonder what kind of country had community of adult veteran JRPG fans in the 90s when Pokemon came out.

The USA had plenty of veteran ***RPG*** fans (including JRPGs which owe much to the American games of the early home computer era) in 1995 when Pokemon was first released.

By that time I'd been playing Frontier: Elite II, Ultima VI, VII, and Underworld, MOO, Might and Magic...

Why waste time with Pokemon? Of all the games out there? It was designed to keep children busy indefinitely, with an accessible interface and whizzy noises and animations.

Oh your poor feelings. Pokemon's objectively for babies, an electronic pacifier for the 7-12 set.

If you played with pic would you get all sore when I called that a baby game too?
