Kinda fucked up how relatively unknown and niche the MM blobbers are compared to HoMM.

CRPG classic. From the mid 90's.

It wasn't my first might and magic game, but it was a hell of a lot different than the ones before it. It was a notable entry in the genre at the time. Still the best one IMHO - I hated that there were only human playable characters at the time but as the years go on I kind of wish more RPG's were that bold - there are humans and there are monsters. Not all monsters are evil, but none of them are human vibe.

Is the world in this game actually interesting?

I played Daggerfall and the randomized world was completely soulless.

I tried playing this game for the past two weeks since I’ve been in quarantine
And it SUCKS

Recently playing MM6 i did notice there is not a single black or any non white looking portrait option for playable characters. There were various ethnicities and also some non human looking ones for portraits of npcs throughout the game though.

I dont think they were being racist per se but the pc gaming space, especially western rpg genre probably seemed so white at that time, the thought of race or attempt at so called inclusion probably didnt occur to the devs at all.

Or was it a conscious decision, to portray a fantasy world of a european basis?

MM6 came out in 1998, i think other PC games around then probably had options for various ethnicities where character customization was available. Like baldurs gate.

Was new world computing racis? Ignorint? Prejudised?

Or were they just a bunch of people who were white as fuck, who just created a game that seemed most natural to them?


Were there non white portraits for other games in the series? Ive only played 6 and some 7. In 7 i think there were some darker or swarthier pc portraits

What should i do? Would better stats attribution in the start have helped?
Should i have taken leather skills for everyone?

On the web there are some guides about what to do in the beginning, go someplace train some skill etc, but that seems kinda too much information as i want to find this game out for myself

I still think it's MM6, even though it looks cheesy as fuck sometimes (enemy sprites, character faces)
I just has this real hardcore "classic" fantasy setting that MM7 and MM8 don't really have

Hello anons little unsure where I should post this but here goes.
I am currently downloading a old classic called Might and Magic VI, since Piratebay.se/piratebay.org is shutdown in Norway
I went to several sites and found a site where i can download a huge winrar file of the game(s)

My Question is do i need to use Dosbox to run Might and Magic VI?

in might and magic 6 the spell day of the gods for example is cast at master " All spells cast at four times skill in Light Magic."

alright but the spells casted by day of the gods include lucky day which is a spirit magic spell and not a light magic spell , so is the spell casted 4 times my skill at what the skill level is in spirit magic or is it based just on the skill level in light magic ?

Is this the best game in the series? Looking to start one and I recall hearing most people prefer 6 to the other entries in this series. Also first person RPG general I guess.

Is there any reason to put more points into skills beyond the minimum needed for Master?

I'm playing a party of KPCS and am around level 45. My Knight is sitting on a billion skill points, but I have mastered basically everything I need for him. Should I just dump everything into my sword skill, or any other ideas?
