It may not be in the contract. I think IBM is not big on marketing directly to consumers. IBM also assisted with the development of the compute component in the 360 and PS3 but did not require their branding on the shells either.

As you can see, I just have the common standard ones. I kind of wish I had won any of those contests for those custom ones back then, but I had no idea of the contests to begin with. I have been looking into de-yellowing the grey parts of the Gamecube, but I can't afford the cost: https://www.muramasaentertainment.com/product-category/replacement-components/gamecube-replacement-components/gamecube-replacement-shells/

The two on the left are my Japanese ones and the ones on the right are my US ones to play games from their respective regions. The two on the top were my original ones from back in the day (I only had the black Gameboy Player which carried the system through that time). There was a time when no one wanted the GC, so I was given the silver and the spice was from the junk section for nothing. Couldn't afford to get the last standard color, it's enough for me to have a console to play on and nice there is a backup for parts.

What converters fix CRT monitors? I'm broke too.

>>9477243
All the repair shops around me only deal with modern screens from Samsung or Apple.

>>9477370
I would pay $80USD for the expertise to fix my monitor. It is worth getting another job to pay for it to be fixed.

I have been trying to read up on this Windas and G2 to understand. I'm having difficulty, but hopefully in the next couple months I can break through. Bookmarked the site so I can get back to it.

I really appreciate your kindness. It is just that there are those on this board who dislike me and I'd prefer not to get doxxed. I intend on dedicating some of my energy to restoring this beauty.

There is an auto setting which is good for widescreen PC images where it bumps the image to the sides and determines a decent starting point. However, you should manually set the height and width. The monitor does remember what you did last set for this scan area per resolution, so when I turn on with a 640x400 DOS image, a 4:3 800x600, 1080p, or my computer's 1920x1200, it automatically goes back to those dimensions. I made some tiny marker indicators to what I have measured out for a centered 4:3 and 16:9 display on its bezel. That's the thing with analog displays, I mostly adjusted to what looked best to me. I am not a professional and I do not have the expertise as others do in this thread, so there may be some more advanced calibration which needs to be done for a fine image. Just yesterday I learned of this G2 and Windas thing, but I think I lack some sort of calibration equipment.

What if I use it with a CRT monitor? Where is your god now?

That's a shame. The HD-Retrovision component cables work pretty well for most in a pinch. I heard they work well for Samsung branded TVs in game mode.

Currently from all I read from people with the OSSC, they have been loving the LG 4k OLED TVs for it. They say it can handle up to 4x mode but not 5x.

I use a CRT monitor which are pretty adaptable to various resolutions. They were within my price range many years ago, but I have not been able to afford any of those new displays everyone seems to rave about, but I am fortunate they both work with the OSSC.

I purchased mine through www.videogameperfection.com which is based in the UK. I know the device is open source, and anyone can make them, but I lack the tools or ability to put one together, so I just bought them fully made.

They were Windows 2000 and the other was XP, never used 98SE until I got my current 486DX4. I only had CRTs, and I still only have CRTs because I don't have the funds to get modern monitors. I am still using that same desk but the monitor changed to a Sony GDM FW-900 which is widescreen and supports 1920x1200 (I adjust the geometry for 16:9 outputs, since the 360 has a VGA cable). Sadly that same desk is not rated to support the weight of two of those monitors, so the other is just sitting in my closet as a backup in case the first dies. The line doublers are invaluable to me, because I cannot afford a nice low latency 4k monitor (I hear either IPS or OLED is the way to go).

Both have their advantages and disadvantages. OSSC has no lag, accurate full colors, a VGA in, and less expensive. The negatives of the OSSC may just be my version being an early build without digital audio integrated (they are now), you will have to use a cable/adapter to change from DVI to HDMI (cheap, so not an issue), some monitors/TVs may not support its line 3x/4x/5x modes, only very few capture cards accept video from the OSSC, and there are no composite nor S-video inputs for the device either. I would advise maybe get the OSSC then make the determination if you can part with one, even though I prefer the OSSC but if I were to only have one, I'd probably keep the Framemeister.

Meant to say: I wish GBI-LL could be my end all JP GBP boot disk replacement since the disc is the expensive part. (I still need a matching Spice Orange GBP too ^^)

I have one, but I got it before they created an expansion board for digital audio. Also, since I went JP21 and I cannot afford a JP21 to Euro SCART converter at this time, my OSSC is only for Gamecube, Xbox, and PS2. Plus my capture card does not work with its line 3X, 4X, and 5X modes. I saw a nice 28" Samsung 4k computer monitor today at Costco which I think will work with the OSSC, but it was $300, well outside my pay grade and I still have to use my old CRT monitor.

For those who own an OSSC, what capture cards/devices do you use that work with the OSSC's line triple/quadruple/quintuple modes?

I use an Avermedia capture card, but it doesn't like the OSSC's off-spec resolutions. I can view/play with it just fine, but I can't capture footage.

P.S. I want a 20-24" BVM ... but living in the middle of nowhere means they are a thing of myth to me.

The digital out is for video, the multi out is for the audio. I just send the audio from the stock cables from the multi out straight to my speakers.

I am looking forward to that revision that reroutes all the cabling to come out of the backside. The diagram also appears to have a HDMI out port, so I am guessing the add-on board for digital audio is integrated in.
