>Modern gaming fans continue to assume Sega fans care about popularity just as much as they do despite Sega not being popular for decades.
Notice how OP said nothing about sales or popularity. SEGA CD, 32X, and Dreamcast all sold way less than the Saturn. I don't think people dislike it because it's not popular.

Start with these

If it has SEGA CD support, get pic related

64DD had literally ten games, that's less than basically every other add-on, even the e-Reader. Come on

>>11395221
Too many AVGN videos I think, play the games and see for yourself. They're not bad

We are not in the 90's anymore, we can enjoy these games without the add-ons themselves

6-Pak
Aladdin
Cool Spot
Mortal Kombat
Ms. Pac-Man
Street Fighter
Vectorman

Not as many options if you're buying. If you're emulating check out SEGA CD and 32X

May as well post this here

32X is also worth checking out as it has Virtua Racing, Virtua Fighter, and Chaotix

They are now. Shame FMV slop killed it, properly supported it could have on the level of the PCE-CD.

SEGA CD had the best versions of Mickey Mania, Earthworm Jim, NBA Jam, Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure, Flashback, Heart of the Alien, Wolfchild, Radical Rex, Hook, Flink, plenty of others

32X also had superior ports of Mortal Kombat II, Primal Rage, NBA Jam T.E, and a few other games

The entire left side (barring Silvergun and Cotton) are better played on CPS-2 proper or Neo Geo for Metal Slug

Right side actually illustrates my point perfectly. The games are okay but nothing as mind-blowing as Sonic CD, The Terminator, or Lords of Thunder

SEGA CD is unironically my favorite system. 32X also has fully playable and fully 3D Virtua Fighter 1 if you can't get the Saturn version to run, plus Virtua Racing Deluxe, Knuckles Chaotix, Shadow Squadron, Darxide, near arcade perfect After Burner and Space Harrier. Some people also really like Tempo and Kolibri.

Not shown is also strategy games like Dark Wizard and Shining Force CD, as well as JP exclusives like Ninjawarriors, Night Striker, and Shin Megami Tensei.

Fifth gen was a bit weird. We got not one but two SEGA consoles (which despite Dreamcast being categorized as a sixth gen console was more inline with the Game Boy Color) and a single Nintendo console only that lasted about half as long as the SNES and the Game Boy. The GBC itself is also somewhat of an anomaly being only active for about three or so years.

It was kind of like a weird stop-gap between the original Game Boy and the GBA which was a lot more powerful and could actually handle some of those SNES ports they were starting to try and push on the GBC, like Donkey Kong Country.

>>11162993
I agree with this a lot. SEGA CD and TurboGrafx-CD had a lot of phenomenal games despite being so short-lived, same with the 3DO. And the Nintendo PlayStation/SNES CD would've been cool too imo.

You're thinking of Saturn. Wild Woody is a SEGA CD game, the one with actual good platformers on it. 3DO is also good, though
