I find it really strange that this genre is mostly relegated to consoles when the main audiences for both RPGs and Tactical/Strategy games are on PC, not to mention how much better a mouse is for the perspective they use. I've heard great things about Vanguard Bandits but the whole Isometric "Pressing Up actually means Up-Right" is incredibly awkward and makes me really wish I could plug in a mouse. Completely flat maps with square tiles like Fire Emblem and Shining Force are tolerable but I would still prefer M+KB. How many retro TRPGs are available on PC? The only few I know of are:

These are great suggestions, Kirby was built from the ground up to be easy, entry level platformers. Smash Bros is fine as long as you play with her on a team and fight against CPUs.
