Has anybody ever beaten this game? I find it difficult but something about the aesthetics makes me want to keep playing. I also think it has the best sonic sprite.

Just reading Wikipedia. Sonic CD was originally going to be an enhanced edition of Sonic 2 with CD audio music. However, shitty sales in Japan led to Sonic Team changing the game to what we have here. I guess that was the inspiration for that famous parody Let's Play.

Why was a Sonic Spinball sequel never made? They could of done so much with another Genesis title or even a sequel on the Saturn would of been sweet.

It's such a great gem that I even enjoy now more than actual Sonic games
