I once measured a degaussing coil of an european Trinitron (which obviously runs on 230VAC).
It was about 16 ohms.

What usually happens in a SDTV is that this coil is connected to (filtered) mains trough a PTC (a resistor that has a low resistance when cold).
That PTC (THP601 in the pic) will heat up quickly and increase it's resistance thus the coil doesn't draw any significant current as the all the mains voltage drops across the PTC which will keep it warm while the set runs.
It usually takes 15 minutes for the PTC to cool down after the set has been fully turned off (not standby).

So I think it's around 13-15A (peak) but I'm not so sure about it as I don't know the resistance of the filters and PTC.
