I remember buying this game when it first came out because it was made by Squaresoft. I remember playing this game a bunch but never could be bothered to finish any storyline because I was confused about what to do next. Lute’s storyline in particular was just a huge mess of not knowing what to do at all. The enemies scaled with you which made the game even harder. It was a complete and utter mess of a game that was far from complete but for some reason it was still enjoyable. If they re released this game in the state it was meant to be in, would you revisit it? It’s one of those few games that was good but hugely incomplete. The demo reel of the game showed a majority of stuff that didn’t even make it in the “final release”. Why did we enjoy this game?!

Do I need a guide/walk-through or should I go in blind? I'm a disgusting casual when it comes to JRPGs but skimming through the wiki article for this game it sounds really interesting. And it just so happens I have a copy of this game and it's sequel and with nothing better to do today I want to to do a deep dive into a game. Tips?

I've been wanting to get into the SaGa series, but I don't know which one to start with. Any suggestions?

Had a mixed critical reception due to being incomplete, poorly translated, and buggy, but damn was it fun to play through the eight characters and their bare-bones storylines. Plenty of hidden party members, side quests, non-linear progression, and a cool combo system. Shame they left so much on the cutting room floor, as this one and its sequel are already solid games that had some potential to be amazing.

You guys are kind of fucking up the thread.

But on topic Ecco II is beautiful and has this forever aura of mystery that kept you playing.

I was lurking one day and I noticed that many people here like Saga Frontier, and today I decided to play for the first time.

But as I read about it, I discovered it wasn't the first game of the "Saga" series. Do I need to play the others to properly understand and play Saga Frontier?

Also, does anyone have any advice for a first time player?

I was doing some reading on TCRF and noticed that this game is widely considered to be "unfinished" - which actually improves the quality of this game in my mind because I just thought it was one of Square's shitty prototype games

Anyway ITT games widely considered to be unfinished

>Final fantasy is the McDonalds of RPGs and to be honest Dragon quest/warrior is Burger King .

So I'm a pretty big fan of FF7 and I love everything about it, but while looking up some similar games to try out I came across this series. Looking at some short clips of this game it looks very similar to my idea of a great JRPG. The thing I want to know is, is this a good place to start? Or should I try some of the older games first?
