1) The Thompson has never been in a .50 caliber cartridge, only .45ACP
2) The actual difference in terminal ballistics between .45ACP and 9mm Luger is not noteworthy if they're fired from a similarly long barrel
3) The Thompson would probably come out on top due to the longer barrel, but the difference isn't phenomenal at any rate.
